AI, Cyber, and Regional Security: What Mythos Tells Us About the Future

NCD SEMINAR on AI, Mythos, cyber threats, and China’s influence operations against Taiwan.

Overview

The seminar is composed of two themes. The first is our perspective on the emergence of ‘Mythos.’

Recent advances in AI are rapidly reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, introducing powerful new capabilities while also significantly expanding the attack surface and accelerating the scale and sophistication of cyber threats. The announcement and growing adoption of Anthropic’s “Mythos” have already sent shockwaves through the cybersecurity industry and the broader business environment, raising urgent concerns about how such systems could be exploited in real-world threat scenarios. Our CEO, Cartan McLaughlin, will discuss an overview of this situation and our approach to addressing it.

The second theme is “The strategic and regional security implications of AI and cyber capabilities for Taiwan, Japan, and the United States amid rising geopolitical tensions.”

Tensions are increasing in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly between Japan and China. Taiwan, which stands on the front line of these tensions, faces daily cyberattacks and influence operations. Admiral Lee Hsi-Min, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Taiwan, will speak about the current situation.
