Understanding Phishing and How to Stop it!!!

Awareness event about the significant rise in phishing campaigns aimed at Japan

NCD EVENT 2026

Japan is experiencing a surge in sophisticated phishing attacks, with reports reaching a record 1.196 million cases in the first half of 2025. These attacks are increasingly targeting critical national infrastructure, government bodies and related authorities, large corporations, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Attackers use email, SMS (smishing), and fraudulent websites that mimic trusted institutions, leading to financial fraud, account takeovers, and wider disruption of digital services. As phishing techniques continue to evolve, enhancing public awareness and strengthening proactive defences has become an urgent priority in Japan.

In light of this, Nihon Cyber Defence (NCD) is proud to host a special cybersecurity seminar on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. This exclusive event brings together leading experts from NCD, Netcraft, and the Japan Cyber Control Centre (JC3) to discuss real-world strategies for protecting Japanese organisations from one of the most sophisticated online threats — phishing attacks.
