Robert Stevenson Appointed Chief Revenue Officer of Nihon Cyber Defence
Nihon Cyber Defence (NCD) (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Cartan McLaughlin), a company pioneering sovereign cyber technology in Japan, today announced the appointment of Robert Stevenson as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Stevenson brings deep experience leading enterprise technology and cyber security initiatives in Japan, including work with critical infrastructure, operational technology, and regulated industries.
Purpose of Appointment
As demand for sovereign-grade cyber defence grows, Stevenson’s appointment strengthens NCD’s ability to deliver Japan-built solutions to government, finance, and critical infrastructure. He will lead commercial strategy, customer engagement, and market expansion, working closely with partners across the public and private sectors.

Robert Stevenson
Stevenson most recently served as Managing Director Japan for the Temasek cyber security fund and consultancy, ISTARI, where he launched portfolio companies including Sygnia, Claroty, BlueVoyant, and Axio, and advised Japanese organizations across OT and critical infrastructure. He has held leadership roles at Sumo Logic, Lenovo, and Tanium, and was instrumental in bringing global technologies to Japan’s security landscape. He holds a B.S. in Economics, Political Science, and Asian Studies from Colby College.
