Paul Habeshaw is a highly experienced adviser with decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. He started his career in the British government, serving in HM Treasury on international economic policy issues. This included a two-year secondment to the Japanese Ministry of Finance. He then joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, where he served in a number of senior roles dealing with national security issues. After leaving government service, Paul joined Hakluyt & Company, a global strategic advisory firm, where he advised the leaders of multinational corporates and investors on strategic commercial opportunities and risks. He was based in Hakluyt’s office in Tokyo from 2018 and joined the NCD team in 2023.

Paul is a member of the board of trustees of the British School in Tokyo and chairman of its Education Committee. He has an MSc from the London School of Economics.
