Robert Stevenson
Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
Prior to joining Nihon Cyber Defence, Robert Stevenson founded the Japan and North Asia businesses of global EDR leader Tanium and cloud SIEM pioneer Sumo Logic. He also led the market introduction of five Temasek/ISTARI portfolio companies in Japan, including Sygnia, Claroty, and BlueVoyant. These engagements involved extensive advisory support to bring advanced security solutions to the “shop floor” of Japan’s leading manufacturing, financial services, and telecommunications firms.
With over 30 years of experience in cyber security, software, telecom, and enterprise technology, Robert has held senior roles at BEA Systems, EMC, Lenovo, GXS (now OpenText), and Avaya. He has worked across Fortune 100 and start-up environments, driving global technology adoption in Japan while leveraging his fluency in the language and culture.
He began his career at Dai Nippon Ink & Chemicals, where he spent a decade in the Corporate Planning Department, supporting global M&A activity through due diligence and post-merger integration of manufacturing and security systems. He later led the Process Manufacturing practice at Arthur D. Little Japan.
Originally from the Boston area, Robert has been a Tokyo resident for 35 years. He holds a B.S. from Colby College and first came to Japan on a Ministry of Education scholarship.
