John Moore Appointed CFO of Nihon Cyber Defence to Support Rapid Company Growth

Nihon Cyber Defence (NCD) (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Cartan McLaughlin), a company pioneering sovereign cyber technology in Japan, today announced the appointment of John Moore as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Moore brings over two decades of financial leadership experience across APAC. 

Purpose of Appointment

Moore’s appointment marks a significant step in NCD’s mission to enhance Japan’s digital sovereignty and resilience. As CFO, he will oversee financial planning, risk management, and capital strategy, supporting NCD’s development of a fully Japan-built cyber defence platform.

John Moore

John Moore is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of experience leading business development & strategy, investment operations and corporate finance functions across Japan, Asia-Pacific, and the United States. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of Russell Investments Japan, where he guided the firm through nearly nine years of sustained growth, overcoming various challenging financial market conditions and navigating complex regulatory environments. With deep knowledge of Japanese financial systems and global capital flows, Moore brings a rare blend of international perspective and local market fluency to NCD’s leadership team.

Looking Ahead

As NCD enters a new phase of growth, Moore will help strengthen the company’s financial foundation and support its expansion across Japan’s critical sectors. His experience navigating complex regulatory environments and scaling operations in global markets will be key as NCD deepens partnerships with domestic MSSPs, prepares for broader commercial adoption, and builds toward long-term resilience as a sovereign Japan cyber security provider.
